The B&O RR Historical Society is hosting a lecture on March 1st. This program will involve the explosion at Black Tom, NJ that occurred on July 30, 1916. The explosion was so powerful it broke windows on Manhattan and destroyed dozens of barges and lighters that were around the pier at Black Tom, NJ. E. Ray Lichty will make an hour long presentation on explosion and the events that surrounded it and the investigation that uncovered sabotage that led to to the disaster.
